SriLankaRealEstate.info is calling on interested and motivated individuals and companies to step forward to become Rainforest Protectors. Only a fraction of the original rainforest cover remains in Sri Lanka and that too faces many threats such as illegal encroachment and logging. The goal of Rainforest Protectors is to help protect the last remaining rainforests of Sri Lanka and establish rainforest buffer zones surrounding the fragmented rainforests to help recover endangered rainforest species. Rainforest Protectors hope to achieve this goal by recruiting volunteers to monitor our rainforests and setup a conservation center in Hiniduma, Neluwa, Kalawana or Deniyaya area. The volunteers will monitor any illegal activity in the rainforests and take prompt action to notify the authorities. The conservation center will care for injured rainforest animals, plant the area with native rainforest trees and educate the public about conservation. Rainforest Protectors can be either donors who fund the purchase and maintanence of the conservation center and/or volunteers who provide their time on the field to monitor the rainforests and run the conservation center.
